Built to Last

My husband is a Chevrolet man, and he would say Chevy's are "Built to Last." We have enjoyed our Chevy truck for 15 years now with no issues or worries. Wouldn't it be awesome if everything was built to last? We are all building something here on this earth. Whether we are building a family, a career, a ministry, a name for ourselves or just a life that we can enjoy. We may even be building a combination of all these things at one time.

Psalm 127:1 says "If God doesn't build the house, the builders only build shacks." (MSG)

God says He knows the plans He has for us and He directs our steps. This is what should be kept in mind while we are building, not our will but His be done. We can build big, beautiful and flourishing things but unless God is directing us we are only building shacks that will one day be tested by fire.

“I know how to be abased…” (Philippians 4:12). Paul’s idea of service was to pour his life out to the last drop for others. And whether he received praise or blame made no difference.

(My Utmost For His Highest)

Jesus I pray that whatever I build is directed by You and that You are the foundation of it. All Glory belongs to you and I am your servant.

Lord, only you are worthy of praise, check my heart if I should seek the praise of others while I am supposed to be building by your plans.
